Erasmus+ Pot Luck –  movie evening, talks, and inspiration

During the National Erasmus Day at AWF Wrocław, a screening of the film “Pot Luck” was followed by a discussion about students’ experiences participating in the Erasmus+ program. The event was organised by the Erasmus Centre and held under the honorary patronage of the European Commission, with support from representatives of Erasmus+ InnHUB – National Agency and ESN Poland.

After the screening, experts from various institutions supporting mobility, as well as students with international experience, took the stage. Among them were:

  • dr hab. Aneta Stosik, prof. AWF – Vice-Rector for Development and Cooperation with the Environment
  • Paulina Kufel – Press Officer, Regional Representation of the European Commission in Poland
  • Łukasz Strączek – Student Support and Development Centre
  • Magdalena Krygiel-Bartoszewicz – Foreign Languages Centre
  • Sławomir Światała – Accessibility Center
  • Jakub Zieliński – Erasmus+ InnHUB – National Agency
  • Szymon Cichy – Erasmus Student Network Poland
  • Amanda Wais – AWF Wrocław student
  • Dawid Kutryn – host

During the expert session, the guests discussed the real-life experiences of students participating in the Erasmus program and compared these experiences to situations depicted in a film. They highlighted daily challenges such as cultural diversity, language barriers, and the need to adapt quickly to new environments.
The experts also offered practical advice on preparing for an Erasmus stay, focusing on developing both professional and personal skills, as well as supporting students’ adaptation and integration into their new surroundings.

The session emphasised that the Erasmus program is not just about learning a new language or experiencing a different academic environment. It is primarily an opportunity for students to develop independence, flexibility, and teamwork skills in diverse settings, which can have a lasting impact on their further education and careers.

The film concluded with the message:
“Erasmus is a beginning.”
It inspires everyone to explore, travel, and embrace their own journeys.
