A recruitment event for the BIP Erasmus project Norwegian Friluftsliv (Outdoor Living): Student-active learning by teaching in an authentic environment was recently held. This was no ordinary day – participants had to prepare for the challenges awaiting them during a four-day trek through the Norwegian mountains.
What makes this project special?
Typically, our Erasmus program recruitment is based on documents like grade point average or English proficiency. However, this time, we expanded the requirements to align with the unique nature of this adventure. Participants were evaluated on:
- Physical preparedness – they will face a real test of endurance.
- Orientation skills – room for mistakes in the Norwegian wilderness!
- Teamwork – empathy, responsibility, and support are essential.
- Resilience in tough conditions – camping in tents, cooking over a fire, and pushing through exhaustion will be part of daily life.
How did it go?
💪🔥 Success! Seven teams, each consisting of six participants, took on the physical and mental challenges of this project. Everyone reached the finish line! While some faced difficulties (and a little hypothermia 😉), the sense of accomplishment and joy at completing the challenge was unmatched.
